Ty the tender hearted soccer player

Ty had his first soccer game this Sat. He is a pretty good player! He loves it! He especially likes playing with his best friend, Jimmy.

He shoots! He scores! I think he made about three goals during the game.

When we got home, he said he had fun but felt sad for his teammate, Ben, because he didn't get to make a goal. (Sweet boy!) He said he would let Ben make one of his goals next time. I'm so proud of him for his team spirit and tender heart...it's not about being the best or winning...it's about having fun and helping others. Way to go, Tyson!

Trevor was cheering him on from the side lines! That sure made Tyson feel special as it is usually Ty on sidelines cheering for Trev!

Ty's First Day of Pre-K

Tyson started Pre-K today at Village Preschool. Here he is with Mrs. Chamberlain, Mrs. McGinn, and Mrs. Kurtz. His teachers are the same ones that Trevor had when he took Pre-K here! Tyson is exactly the same age that Trevor was when we moved to Arlington Heights.

He worked hard on his hair today to make it look all fancy! Too bad he wouldn't let mom help him at all! He was really excited to finally go back to school!

The story of Red Foop Foop

We have some exciting news to announce! There is a new member in the Schutz family! Tyson picked out this firey red male Beta fish when we went "pet shopping" with his friends. (Long story short...we were "pet sitting" a fish and a frog for our friends...the frog went belly up...not our fault...we bought her a new frog...Tyson got a fish.) Trev is holding out for a snake. He's going to be holding out for a LONG time!

"So, Ty, what are you going to name your fish?"

"I have to think about it. Hmmmm. Maybe fishy. No. That's too boring. Red? No. Lava? No. I know! I have the perfect name for him! RED FOOP FOOP!"

"What? Red Foop Foop? That is interesting. How did you come up with that name?" I asked.

"Well, he's red and he does loopdy loops in the bowl. And Foop rhymes with loop!"

Trevor liked the name and thought it was funny and cool! (Most likely because foop also rhymes with poop. Ha!)

Several days go by and Tyson has told many people about his fish and what he named it. People respond with the expected, "What? Red Foop Foop? Where did you come up with that one?"

As I was tucking him into bed one night, he had tears in his eyes. "I think I have to give Foop a new name. No one likes his name. Everyone laughs at it. I guess I have to name him Max or something."

"I think Red Foop Foop is the perfect name because you created it all by yourself! It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. You can name him anything you want. I've never known another Red Foop Foop! I think that makes him pretty special! I love that name!"

"Ok! His name is Red Foop Foop because I like that name and he is my fish!"

"That's right Ty! I love his name! And I love you!"

So, don't make fun of his name people! :-)

Shedd continued

The boys were so excited at the aquarium! It was funny to watch how happy and giddy they were to see all the fish! Trevor's face says it all!

Ty wasn't so sure about the tarantula. "I thought this place only had sharks and stuff in WATER, Mom!"

Cheese! Forget the dolphins! Check out my cute husband!

No, it's not a torpedo. Beluga.

Da Shedd

Welcome to the Shedd Aquarium!

I love this pic because it shows the sting ray and it also shows Trevor's amazement in the reflection.

Whoa! Check out these jellyfish!

I know it is fuzzy, but it is still just a freaky creature! I think it was a type of dragon fish (in the same family as a sea horse). It looked exactly like floating sea weed. How can that be fish?! All creatures great and small, the Lord God made them all!
